If you’re like me, and have not done anything to prepare for Valentine’s Day, this is the post for you!
The florists are already delivering bouquets, the perfect gift is probably sold out (but the best gifts are FREE), and dinner reservations are going to be difficult to secure. It is the absolute last minute, so we’ve got to get creative.
Here are 5 quick ideas to make Valentine’s Day the best, most thoughtful day ever!
DIY Paint & Sip:
Have you ever been to a Paint & Sip event? It is where materials are provided and wannabe Picassos are encouraged to create their own version of an example painting provided for the group. The wine helps the creativity and laughs to flow! YOU can do the same thing with your Lover and is a great activity for the whole family!
Items Needed: Canvas, paint, brushes, newspapers, and WINE! Michael’s has canvas multi-packs as low as $5, brush sets for $3, and paint kits as low as $9! They also have in-store and online coupons to make this project even more affordable! Set a fun and creative mood with snacks, wine (or juice for the kids), put away the phones, and grab the paint brushes! Create hearts, flowers, cupids, or even paint each other’s portrait! It’s a great way to connect while being artistic, and is fun for two or the whole family! Enjoy!
Let’s Cook Together!
It’s Valentine’s Day, and you gotta eat, right? Instead of cooking alone, invite your friends over for an impromptu meal together! No need to wait for a table for an overpriced, rushed, and underwhelming restaurant experience, do it yourself! Make a date to meet at the grocery store, and start from there. Each person be responsible for one dish or side, gather materials, go back home and start cooking! Blast the music, add more friends, pour the drinks, and make it an event! Click HERE for recipe inspiration from Whole Foods! Even if the food isn’t gourmet level, the camaraderie and love shared with friends is even more delicious than the entree. Bon Appetit!
Build A Love Fort
I’m stealing this idea from a girlfriend of mine to share with you. Months ago, she called me asking for ideas on how to build a fort in her living room. It brought back so many memories! I have two brothers, and we would have a blast building cushion forts in our den as children. But who says that blanket forts are only for kids? This Valentine’s Day, build a grown up Love Fort! Gather all the cushions, pillows, sheets, and blankets and erect the perfect den fort for you and your lover. Check out this video on how to make the perfect fort!
Read Him a Bedtime Story
If you want to be a little more daring, read a racy short story to your lover before bed! After you’ve built your fort, build up the romance with a sexy short story read out loud! I’m not going to recommend any titles, but if you have a Kindle or a Nook, you can search for erotic fiction/short stories, some titles are free or very close to it! This is not for the shy, but may be a fun addition to your Valentine’s Day festivities!!!
Sexy Game Night
Along the same lines of ‘spicing things up’, have a sexy game night with your boo! A game of strip Poker, strip Checkers, strip Monopoly, or any other game can be just the thing to make your Valentine’s Day fun and hot! The possibilities are endless, and can go from tame to wild. However, if you want something more specific, visit your local Barnes & Noble or Target for great adult games for two or more (a great addition to the friend’s dinner or fort night)! I’m off to get my game night situation right now!
